about

Probably the most ”funky song” we’ve ever written. It’s basically two demos that we merged together during the recording session. A funny detail is that if you listen closely, you’ll hear that Matilda is basically not singing any words in the verse. Matilda had an extreme cold when we recorded the demo, and there were no actual lyrics at the time, so she just ”faked” the lyrics. And when we brought the demo to the recording session at Studio Sickan, Jocke (Joakim Lindberg) thought the demo-vocals had so much more of a ”real pasé feeling” than what we managed to record at the studio. So we actually decided to keep the demo vocals in the final mix.

lyrics

I may always choose the backdoor
Open up and be yourself now
Fearing that my illness will be taking over
Hiding from the fact that I am sober

You and I we’ll stay together
Holding on but not forever
Fearing that my illness will be taking over

If I am calling don’t answear
If I am asking open a bottle
You’ll have to empty it
You may be sane
But I don’t want you to
Don’t want you to

Always reaching for the better
Even though I can’t control it
